Shoeprints, Tyres and Tool Marks.

In this section the students are shown how shoeprints, tyre marks and tool marks are recovered from crime scenes and how they can assist and be used in investigations. A practical demonstration is given in the classroom into how a shoe mark is recovered from clay etc. using casting cement.

Then a demonstration is given into how shoe marks are taken from floor tiles and other surfaces using gel lifters (supplied). The students will then be given the opportunity to use the gel lifters and to lift shoe marks from surfaces themselves.

Using powerpoint and photographs, the students are shown how tyre marks and tool marks are dealt with at crime scenes.
