Kieran O'Brien
Jim Gallagher
Kieran O'Brien joined An Garda Síochána in 1979. In 1984 he successfully completed Crime Scene Investigation training at the Garda Technical Bureau and was attached to the Bureau's Fingerprint Section where he worked as a Crime Scene Investigator. Kieran was promoted in 1992 and transferred to Sligo. From 2002 until his retirement in 2017, Kieran was a full time Crime Scene Investigator with overall responsibility for the Sligo-Leitrim Divisional Crime Scene Unit. Over the years, he has successfully completed numerous courses on Crime Scene Investigation, including a Crime Scene Managers course at the Garda College and a Fire Investigation Course in Belfast as well as a Crime Scene Development course in College of Policing, Durham in the UK. He has been involved in a number of high profile cases in his time with An Garda Siochana.
Jim Gallagher joined An Garda Síochána in 1982 and has worked since then in the Sligo area. He has spent the last 25 years of his service as a Crime Scene investigator in Sligo/Leitrim Division. He has successfully completed a number of Crime Scene Courses at the Garda Technical Bureau in relation to Crime Scene Investigation. These include Photography, Fire and Arson investigation, Crime Scene Development courses in relations to Fingerprints and Ballistics. He has worked on a number of high profile cases over the years. During his time in An Garda Siochana, Jim has also worked in the Traffic Division.
